I currently take my Prilosec in the morning which is extended release. I was just prescribed another XR tab that I will also need to take in the morning time. Anyone ever had trouble with taking to XR meds at the same time?

Purchase sugar free applesauce  and open the contents onto a small spoon of appelsauce. I do this with the Vit D also and the Biotin.  Just swallow it - don't chew it.

Please check with your doctor before following the previous poster's advice.  Whether that's safe really depends on what the med is.

I agree with the previous poster. Discuses it with your dr. I currently take Prilosec also, but will not be able to because you can not break it open. I will be given a different script after surgery

I don't get what you're asking? Ate you asking if you can take two extended release medicines together or are you asking because you have a problem with taking meds, hence the applesauce comment. If it's the latter I'd talk to your pharmacist about the best route. I'm a nationally certified pharmacy tech and extended release meds shouldn't be broken or capsules open, crushed. But if you mean taking two xr meds together just for the sake of it, it shouldn't be an issue at all. However I've noticed since survey that my medications wear off quicker. The half life, how long it takes the med to burn off in your system, is more rapid for me, do i try not to take time release because mostly for me it won't be anyway. Hope this helps
