Yeah man, pull ups were my main nemesis when I began CrossFit. I couldn't even do ONE single one with the strongest band available but I slowly gained strength and worked my way through the smaller bands and eventually completely got off the bands about 3 months ago. I almost cried when I completed my 1st unassisted pull up. LOL! It was an amazing feeling.
I can do 1,maybe 2 close grip pullups unassisted. I had never even tried until recently and was blown away when I did it. I don't quite have the muscle coordination in my back yet to do a wide grip. I use the assistance machine in my gym to work on it. The weight on that machine has dropped pretty good so far. I am only weeks away.
I could never even do a pull up when I was a kid.
All of these posts are so inspirational. I love the variety of workouts! I'm on the last week of bridge to 10k so I have a 60 minute jog. I'm going to repeat this week though since I had some challenges (a lot of stomach upset interfering with the jogging and one memorable incident where I barely made it to the bathroom, I apparently get the runner's trots).
Today I also began the 200 situps (actually crunches) challenge which should last three weeks. Going to be amazing to be able to do 200 consecutive crunches especially considering where I am now and where I was a few months ago. Some physical therapy resistance band exercises for my arm.
All in all Friday is a heavy day for me BUT now I also want to do kettlebells and stairs and everything. It's like a buffet of workouts, I want some of this and some of that...
