How Bad Did You Do Yesterday?
It was a very small gathering - only me and my youngest, and my sister and her oldest. I brought my food scale over to show my niece how little I eat. I had 2 oz of turkey with a tiny dab of gravy, a couple bites of greens, a couple bites of plain baked sweet potato, and my splurge - a bite of garlic parmesan biscuit. No alcohol. It didn't even hurt my niece's feelings that I passed on her homemade apple pie, because she's a nursing student and part-time zumba instructor who's really into fitness.
We spent a lot more time playing games together than eating, so it was a lot of fun!
I'm pretty pleased with myself. I ate turkey, cottage cheese, and 4 olives. Later when it was time for desert, I did have an almost see through sliver of pumpkin spice cake. I did plan on eating this.
The only thing I ate, that I had planned to stay far away from was a roll. My MIL bought these little mini sweet rolls, and as hard as I tried, and I made it until 8 last night, I had to have one. It would have kept me up all night talking in my head. So I ate it. The scale was still down 2 pounds this morning, and I'll be making an extra trip to the gym this coming week, but all in all, I'm pretty pleased.
I did very well. No sides, no dessert, no alcohol, as per my plan. I ate 2.5 ounces of chicken breast with an ounce of ham because the numbers worked better for me that way, but that ounce of ham provided a nice taste of it. It was difficult to cook without tasting, but my husband kept hanging around the kitchen and bravely volunteered to do that for me. :)
