Thanksgiving Finally Showed Up on the Scale!

It's Official. Even with busting my ass leading up to Thanksgiving I managed to gain 3 lbs. Not sure how. I certainly didn't eat an excess 10,500 calories, especially since the 24 hours before Thanksgiving I burned over 1500 calories in 3 HIIT classes. I have been REALLY bad about drinking water so I could potentially be retaining water. I am going to treat is as if it is real weight. Game plan is to eat ultra low carb this week, keeping fat levels high and actually going to lower my protein a bit this week because I am not working out as hard. Going to try to increase water above normal levels this week too. Water has been making me nauseous lately.

I have injured my left calf somehow and I have to take it easy for a while. I have been going to the classes but walking instead of running and my intensity is very low, so this 3lbs is going to be slow coming off.

Keith, I so appreciate your posts.

I find on those days tha****er is just not agreeing with me that a switch to peppermint tea is just what the doctor ordered and serves to make water palatable again. Tis the season for Celestial Seasonings' Candy Cane Lane tea, one of my faves.

Here is to hoping the three lbs comes off quickly.

Even know I don't no you but read your post all the time I fell you can do this and kill your 3 pounds. Keep up the good work.

I recently read the 4hr body. I think you are familiar with the slow carb deal. The lentils keep me full and satisfied like nothing I have ever tried. I'm sure you know what to do but I have had success maintaining using this mentality.

It happens. Just do what you know works. No fooling around. Cut the calories, keep the protein level good, lots and lots of fluids. It'll come off.

You might want to think about this: You appear built similarly to the way I am built. I tend to fluctuate by 3 pounds normally - so I'll bounce between 178 and 181. Sometimes even a 5 pound spread is normal for me. My friends and my partner who have much slighter builds tend to only fluctuate about a pound or two. I think for some of us guys who are just built bigger a wider spread in scale movement is pretty normal.

And as an FYI: I was pretty much perfect over Thanksgiving, but had some intense workouts. The scale went up 2 pounds from Wednesday morning to Sunday morning. Today, most of it's all gone. Just another .4 and I really didn't do too much except push a lot of water.

Fluctuations happen.

I have been fluctuating between about 3 lbs. too but this is over that. I have been around 204 and I hit 208. I am pretty sure it's mostly water retention. I was pretty good for Thanksgiving but football Sunday I may have had a few more beers than planned but then I noticed yesterday that I wasn't drinking water at all even during cardio.

Im not lost and not in gain mode so I am sure by the end of next week I will be back to lowest.
