Have you been cleared for exercise yet? You should wait until 8 weeks post op before doing any weights or hard cardio. You do not want to risk herniating an incision point. Trust me I am speaking from personal experience. It is not a good situation. l think you should cancel your trainer for a couple weeks and just get some walking on the treadmill until you hit 8 weeks post-op. Right now walking is the best fat burning exercise you can do.
Starting my off-season resistance training tonight with a bunch of squatt-type things... all body-weight, high-rep.
Front lunges
Reverse lunges
Side lunges
Squats
Planks and side-planks...
