I Just Got ***** Slapped By My Sleeve
You are so busy being all butt-hurt that not everyone thought your "supposed to be cute" little post was funny that you aren't even hearing what is being said.
It's obvious that you are young - or a young adult. You have a lot of time to learn things. We are trying to warn you. Spenc wasn't snarky to you, but you were back to her. She was honestly trying to warn you. I was snarky, because I mistakenly thought you could take it. I was wrong. I won't make that mistake again.
You SAY you are living by moderation but you ate all of that crap and all you got from the experience was that you actually CAN dump. Maybe you learned more from it. I don't know. At this point, you are probably too defensive to admit that you might have learned more - own it and swallow your pride enough to say it.
It gets harder as you get further away from surgery and closer to your goal. I hope the scale keeps going down for you, I truly do. But, if it doesn't I hope you will try to figure out a plan of action for the next time you head to a movie. Maybe try having a protein bar with you, or grabbing a bottle of water (even if $4 effing for something that should be free).
Moderation is great - when it works. When it doesn't you might have to try something a little less moderate. It sounds like moderation didn't work for you this time.
I wish you the very best. Navigating through this time of year isn't easy.
This is the problem with online forums. Tone and facial expressions and social cues are nonexistent. It wasn't my intent to be snarky with Spencerella. Seriously. I will go and post that to her as soon as I finish typing this. I write the way that I talk. I apologize if that came off as rude/snarky/etc. I am not too defensive to hear anything, as I left my response to her an open ended question in the hopes that a vet could give me some insight from farther out than I am.
"Butt-hurt"... not one that I've heard before, but I'll go with it. My post wasn't "supposed to be cute" (although I am a writer and thought it was pretty pithy if I do say so myself). I'm hearing everything that's being said. I had a BAD day. I've copped to it. I'm not going to beat my breast over it though. Tomorrow is a new day. I've finished my night with a low cal protein shake to begin to get me back on track.
And you're right. Navigating this time of year is difficult. As I sat here and copped to how off my day had been, my mother was in the kitchen making fudge and other candies for Christmas eve with my sister. I am still, an hour later, sitting here smelling chocolate from the kitchen. I have no desire to go and have a taste, however, after today. I'm going to call that a big ol' NSV.
I wish you the best too, Slim.

Aw Slim :). Maybe it's the time of year, but there have been an awful lot of posts like this lately. It was time to speak up.

Again, we don't seem to actually be reading. I was attempting to "listen and want to learn" when I asked if this is what binge eating looks like post op. That was a legit question, not sarcastic sass. I got to my high weight by eating large meals. I was never a "sit around and snack" person. I ate 3 meals a day. They were just the wrong things and LARGE portions of those wrong things.
This sort of thing is why people rarely post failures on this site... People jump in and make assumptions and character attacks. Sad because I truly believe that we can learn from each other's mistakes, as well as posts about NSVs, Onederland, etc. I think it is safe to assume that many people use this as their "support group," like I do. Sometimes, it's nice to be able to cop to mistakes in a safe environment. Guess I was mistaken... or "stupid" as you so charmingly and eloquently put it.

If I ate all of that (and I have) I would call myself stupid (which I did at the time). From what I can gather, you are not stupid, but your actions were, imo. Newton invented the light bulb. It took him 2000 tries. People thought he was stupid. But, each time he failed, he learned something that helped him with the next try.
Again, all I'm trying to get you to do is learn something from this failure.
OH. MY. WORD. I love you a little bit.

oops. Should have been Edison.
That's what happens when your kids are making cookies 20 feet away and you are trying to ignore the wonderful smells. Also, what happens with your mother-in-law asks you the same question for the 5th time. "What day is it?" Oh, and there's the hubby asking me to put the lotion on his back because of the shingles.
Just a little diverted.
Carry on.
