I was up at 5:00 to get some nutrition in and wake up a bit before my 6:00am Orange Theory Class. Orange Theory is a HIIT Weight Training and Cardio class that is different every day, in fact in the 8 months I have been going we have never repeated class, exercises yes, but class structure no. Today I sprinted 8 mph at a 6% incline for 60 seconds, that was after doing 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5%. 3 hours later and my body is still shaking. Great Workout!

Did YOU workout? Let's Hear It!

I'm making my own circuit class in my living room today.  I live in Massachusetts, so no leaving the house for a few days with the big Nor'Easter snow storm.

I have my mat and weights all set up, but I think I will work in that 20 min HIIT workout in the photos.  Just a question though, what are speed skaters, tuck jumps and star jumps?

Thanks

I'm not where I want to be, but I am closer than I was yesterday!

Im working on the squat challenge, Im on day 21(180 squats) and i kicked up a notch, by adding the same amount of crunches and push ups, + cardio shooting for 500 or > calories burned by either treadmill, bike, elliptical or arctic machine, it is freaking awesome!

Happy New Year Keith!

Thanks for reminding me to get back on plan after my holiday vacation. I'm leaving for the gym right now and taking my daughter with me so she can motivate me.

Quick question for you... Do you recommend a cleanse of some sort to get ride of the carbs and junk I ingested over my vacation?

I've done a few in my day and honestly I don't think they are worth the torture. I think if you focus on eating clean and lowering your carbs you will knock it out of the park. Now that is not to say increasing your veggies would be a bad idea but I don't think you probably ate enough junk to warrant a cleanse. For us it is really important to get our protein in and I cannot think of a cleanse that includes any kind of protein. Just get your carbs down, keep your healthy fats at a good level, and get your protein and water in. Oh and make sure to exercise. Read my Shreduary posts. HIIT is the theme of the month, you will drop anything you gained recently in a week or two.

Wow.  sprinting at 6% at 8 mpg.  Good for you.

I tried 1 min sprints at 3.6 mpg for the first time on Tuesday.  Let's just say .... I've got some work to do. :)

Today is a fun activity day once I get off work at 12:00.

I have a riding lesson at 1:30.  Then later I will work the dogs at agility.   Then take them for a walk, 1/2 of which is up a steep hill......if it's not raining to hard.  :)

Just keep doing them as fast as you can for as long as you can and return to a wal****il you catch your breath then do it again for as long as you can. You will improve your sprint time very very quickly. My current sprint speed is 10mph and I can hold it for 90secs but do not know my max yet.

Sounds like a good plan.  Like everything else, I just need to keep at it and improvement will come!
