NSV - Get out of my head Doubt!
Well over a year post-op NSV are farther and fewer between, but they still happen. Most are not nearly as impressive as they used to be so I don't post many because I am just like "eh, it was bound to come up sooner or later". But today was different. You may or may not have noticed that I occasionally mention burpees in an exercise routine but for the most part I don't talk about them much even though they are an exercise we should all be doing. But let me be clear I HATE BURPEES. I do them but I HATE them. So today we were challenged. Our Orange Theory classes are split half in the weight room and half on the treadmill. Like a good exerciser I always do the weight room first. So the first group on the weight room had 5 people who ran at a 12mph for their final 30 second sprint. The instructor challenged us to beat them and if we beat them the first group would have to do burpees if not we had to do burpees. 8 of u**** 12 mph and held it for the entire 30 secs. I have never ran that fast before. I ALWAYS doubted I could do it even though I regularly sprint at 10mph but it felt like a limit. I had it in my head that I could never run that fast. I have short legs it was a reasonable doubt. Well I am here to tell you. STOP THINKING YOU CAN'T DO SOMETHING AND AT LEAST GIVE IT A TRY!
My NSV for today was that I ran at 12mph for 30 seconds, after 25 minutes of jogging, running and sprinting. HELL YEAH!
I feel like there are no limits to what I can achieve physically and I hope at some point you do too!
Just to add to my euphoria right now I have not even been running for a year. I started running about the 3rd week of February 2013 and I could not run for one whole minute. Not one! 10 weeks later I ran my first 5k, Seven months later I ran my fastest (and quite a respectable time) 5k.
Awesome NSV!! Doubt get outta here.
P.S. I also hate burpees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Someone once advised me not to let the negatives rent space in my head. So very, very true.

Sleeved 6/12/13 - 100 pounds lost to get to goal!
I think I am inspirired. I have been wanting to run, but can barely manage a minute. Horrible. I have not tried to run since weighing 220 pounds though, so maybe now it will go a little easier. Once upon a time I was captain of the track team in high school too, so particularly pathetic. But once I am cleared, I am going to make it a goal. Great job with the sprinting.... pretty darn sure I would have a heart attack if I tried that :)
