Food tracking

I stopped tracking my food intake about two months ago.  About a week ago I dusted off MyFitnessPal and started to plug in my food again.  To my surprise I found myself lacking protein badly.  I have been hovering in the 185- 190 range, this is my goal weight.  When I started tracking again I was close to 190 pounds.  After increasing my protein intake I dropped those 5 pounds in 3 days.

I guess I really need to keep tracking my food.

Keep tracking and if you don't want to weigh everyday then weight at least once a week.  That will help you catch any weight gain before it gets really out of control.  Congrats on geting back on track and dropping those 5 extra pounds!!

It's my hope that once I reach goal I can watch my weight and go back to tracking as needed.  I really don't want to track every day for the rest of my life but know I can return to that tool if and when needed.

Kind of like you just did :)

Great job in losing those 5 lbs.! I know I have to weigh myself everyday and track my food, every bite. If I go up a lb. then I lower my calories the next day. I tell you this Maintenance is a learning process! I hear the stories that it gets harder to lose gained weight as we get further along so the fact that you caught it and lost it right away is awesome!

I used to hate to track my food, but I know it's an essential part of my success in controlling what I eat. If I want something to eat after dinner, I look at my tracker to find out how many calories I have left, and also what kind of food it should be.  I track as I eat. Gives me something to do while I'm chewing!

I see tracking every day as a challenge, now.  If I trac****il I'm 83, that will be over 14,000 days.  for some reason it sounds kind of awesome to seek that number show up on MFP.  LOL
