Soon to be a two-VSG household!
So, this is an interesting question. My husband and I are opposite of you and your husband...... he had his sleeve first (almost 2 years ago) and I just got sleeved last Saturday. (He had much more weight to lose than I did, and I think I'm officially called a lightweight, although that's hard for me to write. I've never been a lightweight of any kind in my whole life!) I read your question to him just now, so we're sort of answering this together. Prior to both of our surgery, we both made comments similar to, "you're not going to get skinny and leave me, are you?" but I don't think either of us thought that was a serious concern. It was just the elephant in the room that needed to be addressed. Before his surgery he assured me that nothing would change how he felt about me and just last week I assured him of the same thing. Fat or skinny, we're in this together... for life! My main motivation for getting this done was to help him continue to be successful. It's hard for him to try and watch what he eats and me eat everything in sight! I would have loved to have gravitated to his end of the spectrum, but I noticed that it was easier for him to move to my end. He is still 30 or so pounds to goal and being almost 2 years out, I thought this was a good chance for us to work together for him to get his last bit off while he helped me.
I don't really feel like I'm answering your question and with being so new, don't really have any experience to share with you. I'm just glad that we're in this together and that we're giving ourselves the chance to spend a long, healthy life together. Best of luck to you and your husband as you work through this transition. I hope it brings the two of you together in a way you never dreamed possible! ps...i enjoy reading your posts on the forum. I'm glad you're so active on here. I hold you up as a bit of a guru myself!
I think you're right that it's easier for the sleeved person to gravitate to the wrong end of the spectrum rather than the other way around. I have a feeling that after hubby is sleeved that my program will tighten up a bit.
And you're very kind - that last thing I am is any kind of expert or guru. At barely 10 months out I'm just figuring this stuff out as I go along! But the vets on this site have been unfailingly kind and generous with their advice and experience. I hope I can pay it forward :-)
I agree that he will inspire you to remain on the straight and narrow :)

Way to be such an awesome inspiration to your hubby! Get him on these boards so we can cheer him on :)

Oh goodness... I would love to be a 2 vsg household. I watched the hubby eat 6 or 7 tacos the other night. I had made up 2 lbs of taco meat and was going to freeze 1/2 of it. The man ate most of it in one sitting! I had 4 oz of meat with my taco salad. I ate until I was satisfied and watched him stuff himself. He topped it off with a large shamrock shake from McDonald's. I swear, I try not to judge...but sometimes it is hard. I just really want him to be healthy. I want him to lose the weight he wants to lose. I want him to quit eatting a big ol' peanut butter and jelly sandwich right before going to bed...you know how hard it is to not eat when you smell toast late at night? Congrats on the surgery for you husband.
