one month out
Yesterday was one month out for me... it seems like way longer through. It has been a good month. My damn incisions finally stopped hurting so badly after about 3 weeks. I'm down 18 pounds since surgery which is a slow loss, but I'm ok with that. When have I ever lost 18 pounds period- let alone in a month.
I've made a few poor food choices, especially lately, but I still consider myself successful because even with the poor food choices I never felt "out of control" like my pre surgery self. And most of the time I made good choices. So I'm not perfect, but I feel good about myself. I'm 10 pounds away from my first mini goal!
I hate how food centered this country is- makes it hard to stay on plan. This week, I am helping out at my husband's school since the school I work at is on spring break. Anyway, yesterday I got off about 2 hours earlier than him but didn't want to go all the way home because I had to come get him- we took one car. So anyway, I had my kindle and I wanted to go somewhere that had WiFi and just hang out, and I was also hungry, but I couldn't think of anywhere to go that had snack food I could eat, so I just went to the library. But times like that are hard, pre surgery I had a million options of places to go for an after work snack. Anyway, it's the.minor things like that that make it hard to make good choices.
I too am just about 4 days shy of my 1 month. I've lost 21 lbs to date (which I consider starting at the Pre Op Liquid Diet). I am on the smaller size (though I don't feel it!), so "they" say I will lose slower then bigger people. I'm hoeing to get less extra skin because of this (a positive!), I have also made some not great choices, but at least now I eat a LOT less of that choice! I try to remember to bring something with me. A soup package i had from Pre Op diet, Proteing shake, water. Then I can rely on those. I'm still at the puree stage, until next Tuesday, but after that I think I'll have to just choose things best as I can and chew chew chew. I have noticed that Oscar Meyer has a small Protein Pack (in its lunchable area) that has nuts, cheese and chopped meat) That may be good to get some of those. I think being prepared will help us. Also, Starbucks has a protein pack if you're out and need WiFi again.
Friend me if you'd like a buddy!
hey Im not there yet however sounds like your doing great ... you may have made some bad choices but you learned from them so thats awesome....
I right now am at my desk as we speak smelling pizza and garlic knots being eaten right in front of me!!! ughhhhhh while I sip on my peanut butter chocolate protien drink!!!!
I truly am worried about the temptation!! but I tooo shall succeed...
congrats on your surgery. you are doing wonderful. N don't worry about the slow loss. i have it also. Plus i've read on here somewhere that the slower you get it off makes it easier to keep off most times. not to worry about the fast lost.
