one month out
I'm one month out as well and have lost 22 lbs. I was so happy to see your post as I was feeling bad that that was all I had lost. I would tell myself the same thing, that 22 lbs in a month was awesome, but I was still feeling a little down.
I'm having a difficult time getting my water and proteins in. Before surgery, I drank a gallon of water a day. Now I'm lucky if I can get 40 oz down. It just doesn't go down as smoothly as before. I can't drink Crystal Light because the citric acid gives me wicked heart burn! I tried some juice this morning and I'm paying for that too with heartburn.
I'm so thirsty all the time, and my skin is ridiculously dry. I choose drinking over eating because I'm so thirsty. I'm having a hard time taking my meds too because the large capsules feel stuck all the time. Any tips?
22 pounds is wonderful! You are doing great! Sorry to hear you felt bad about that... glad my post could help!
I sometimes have trouble with fluids as well. Crystal light has been my savior, sorry to hear you can't drink it. Hmm.. have you tried sugar free koolade or gatorade g2? Those are good as well. I also loved propel before my surgery... now I can't take it.. go figure. Have you tried liquids at different temps? I know that it is very common to be able to tolerate warm/hot liquid easier than cold liquid. Caffeine free herbal teas are supposed to be good.
Hmm.. about meds. Are those meds that are for after the surgery, or for something else? Either way, I've heard that many meds come in liquid form. You could ask your pharmacy or doctor and they should know. If you're having trouble with vitamins, I just discovered celebrate protein powder that is like taking a miltivitamin with your shake. It is so good- I love the cake batter. It is pretty pricy but I think I might order some. You can also buy liquid vitamins.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
