NEWBIES/PRE-OPs - This is NOT EASY!

I (for once...) agree with what you say with one caveat. All these things you list are true but for me they have been really easy...so it is all a matter of attitude and perspective and dealing with one's fears maybe? I don't know. It was hard deciding and up until I walked into the operating theatre I was petrified. Since I woke up I really haven't had a single moment of struggle in the grand scheme of things. Sure I whined now and then about this or that, but it still wasn't hard. I think for most people it is hard but everyone should know that they all have the power to make it easy.

Only once? Ouch. I always thought you and I were pretty much on the same page. Anyway I am similar to you, I haven't had much of a struggle in the grand scheme of things. I never had pain. I had a few moments that I had to learn to deal with but this was not a difficult thing looking back and it won't be for these people either. It just seems like there have been a lot more than normal lately.

Hi Keith,

I had a question about exercise, is it okay to do resistance training 6 days a week or should it be done every other day and cardio everday?? My sister was saying curves recommended everyday??

Thank you

You can weight lift everyday if you want but you should target different areas each day. i.e. arms - Monday, legs - Tuesday, etc.

Your muscles need time to heal that is why alternating days is good idea. You could also do full body lifting workout, take a day off of weights, then lift day or two later.

Resistance training is a pretty generic term. If by that you mean weight training, then it depends, if you are talking about using the bands that provide resistance for body weight exercises, then yes. Weight training you need to give your muscles time to heal so 2 to 3 days between. So I do chest and shoulders on M and Th, legs/back/biceps on Tu and F and rest or abs on W and Sa Su

Thanks for this. As a newbie you gave me some more insight. My surgery for the sleeve is tomorrow and it helps to read this and get a better understanding on what ti expect after the surgery.
