Your insurance company wouldn't cover further testing? Have you called them to check? I'm not sure if the doctor you're talking about is your surgeon or your PCP, but my surgeon's advice to me is that whenever I feel like there's anything wrong, ever, to see him first as he's the most familiar with my history and my anatomy, so he will have the best chance of figuring out the problem. He also said to assume it's somehow related, also making him the best choice. Have you contacted your surgeon?
First of all I want to say my suitation and what happened to me MIGHT NOT be what's happening to you but it's similiar sounds. I was at 2 years and 3 months out from surgery when I started having pain similar to what you stated and it ended up being constipation. Several trips to the e.r, over night stays cause I was literally block from my stomach to my rectum. Anyway it lead to me having a bowel obstruction, emergency surgery all becasuse of chronic constipation.
Try using a stool softner for a few days or maybe even Mirlax or a gentle form of a stool purge. If you notice the pain releives then it's probably constipation. Before this happen to me I didnt' realize how painful constipation can be and ya I'm a pian whimp but a high does of morphine was needed for me to even be able to walk.
Again everyone is different but before you spend $1200 it's worth a shot. Just to add I don't think it's possible to get a leak this far out cause out sleeves are full healed and should have scar tissue protecting it.
Good Luck.

You can either believe it will happen.....or believe it won't. Both are self fulfilled prophesies. For Me it has happened. My Surgery was September 21/2010
I have had lower left abdominal pain on and off for about six months now. I'm 16 mos out from wls. I had an ultra sound and they found nothing. I then went to a gastrointestinal doctor who said that i have a long and winding colon and need to have a bowel movement daily and believes the cause of my pain is constipation.
