Shake mix?
Hi All. I'm 2 months out, 45 lbs down, and feeling pretty good. I was told to eat 60-90 grams of protein, including 3 protein drinks a day. Up until now I have gotten just about 60 grams a day but I'm trying to get more and I'm trying to get in more protein drinks. I've done much better the last few days and it seems like I'm losing a little faster. Could be just where I am in my cycle (I seem to lose well for 2 weeks and then VERY slowly for 2 weeks) or it could be the increase in protein and drinking more of that protein. I have been drinking ViSalus shakes in the morning. I use 1% milk which has 12 grams of carbs. The shakes taste delicious and I have no problem drinking them, but I don't want to drink more than 1 a day. So, I'm looking for other options and was hoping to get some opinions. What kind of shakes do you like? I was looking at Isopure Dutch Chocolate. Is that good? I prefer to buy off Amazon, so if there are any other Amazon shoppers out there, let me know what you get! Thanks!
I have a friend who sells ViSalus, that's pretty pricey stuff! I saw it cheaper on amazon. She mailed me a sample, pretty tasty stuff. You can visit your local GNC store or health food store and pick up some sample packets of different protein powders. We all have different taste in protein, but I like the creamy chocolate Orgain Organic Protein from Costco. It costs about $30 and will last about 1-1/2 months.
I like Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard, Jay Robb, Chike (all their flavors are great but in particular their Iced Coffee), Syntrax Matrix, and Syntrax Nectar Sweets, all of which are available on Amazon. If you want to sample before you commit, you can get samples of all these brands (except I think Jay Robb) here:

I love the chocolate truffle and the cappuccino is really good. For the cappuccino (and Chike) I add a teaspoon or two of instant coffee granules because I like a stronger coffee taste than you can get from protein powder alone.
With Chike, I also just use a half serving and mix it with 8 oz. skim milk. The full size serving is too high in calories and carbs for me, but using a half serving, mixing with milk, and adding some instant coffee is very flavorful and in fact delicious to me, I love it!
