I think I hate my sleeve

I am still pre op but thought I might let you know my surgeon recommended a transdermal vitamin called Seablue. I think it is made locally by a compounding pharmacist but can be ordered online.  That way you can take your vitamins even if you are nauseated.

Thank you, I had never heard of that. I will check into it.

I totally understand your post. I had RNY surgery on 10/21. The first two week were fine but I got terrible sick after that. I feel nauseated all THE TIME. I ended up back in the hospital. They did a EDG and said I had a large marginal ulcer in my stomach and acute gastritis. I was really dehydrated too. I am now taking liquid carafate four times a day as well as zofran which does nothing really. I was told it will take time to heal but ill say it is aweful. I use the small 2oz cup ( the ones youd use in your bathroom when brushing your teeth) that small amount isnt so overwhelming. I can drink that. I used it to get my protein in. I use premier Protein. Have you lost much weight? the carafate really helps. good luck just know there are others out here who do understand.

Thank you, Claudia. I've never heard of liquid carafate, what is it? I have lost about 30 lbs now, but not in a healthy way. The IV fluids really helped but it's starting to creep back in, I'm still having a lot of trouble getting in the liquids. My body does not want it. I push through it but only end up getting in about 24 ounces a day, I have to do more, I don't want to end up back in the hospital like you did. Thank you for the encouragement, I hope you feel better soon as well!

the liquid carafate coats your whole GI system so that not everything will make you feel so sick. It does work. think of it kinda like malox but much stronger. I take it 4 times a day. The doctor had me consult with a GI doctor who has been very helpful and seems to understand my issues. They are not uncommon at all. I would ask about seeing a GI doctor that works with your doctor. Feel free to Private message me and ill look at what other things im taking. Trust me when I say I understand. I still have many days when I just dont feel great. food only makes it worse. I am struggling just like you. Thanksgiving was aweful.. nothing worse than being hungry and nothing helping that. Good luck. Feel free to connect with me.

I have been having the same problem. The one thing that I have found that has helped is drinking boiled ginger root. If I drink some first thing in the morning it settles my stomach and makes getting my protein shake into me a lot easier. Give it a try and see if it helps. Good luck!
