Hang in there! I'm so sorry to hear about your dog.  I lost my guy to cancer earlier this year and it ripped my heart out.

Thank you, it stinks, it really does.

Believe me, this will pass. If you read my posts right after surgery you'll see I HATED my decision to be sleeved but as time passed and I was able to have more choices in my diet and I saw real weight loss happening I have grown, after 6 months, to LOVE my sleeve. I love feeling good, looking good, and being able to wear clothes from normal size racks. I'm 20 pounds away from goal and couldn't be happier!

I am two weeks out and have had those same thoughts. I can only hope the regret will pass. This will be a wonderful decision in the long run- at least I hope so. The day after my surgery, my grandmother died and I had to travel several states away for her funeral. I have never been so miserable. All I wanted to do was eat. That was always my comfort! But we will learn to deal with things in healthier ways and be much slimmer while doing so! You are not alone in your thoughts of hating the sleeve.

Thank you - I am so sorry about your grandma - I am sure it was awful - I'm glad you are doing better.  I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Don't apologize for being negative. You are expressing your honest feelings and if you can't do that here then what is the purpose of this board? I understand how you are feeling and I totally get that you are embarrassed you feel this way. I'm almost 6 weeks out and it has been a mental struggle for me. I have had a lot of your thoughts. It does seem that most people are so positive and upbeat. That's a good thing, but when you feel like you are the only one having negative thoughts; that's a scarey thing! I'm not sure when your surgery was but hopefully as the weight loss happens for us it will help remove some of the doubt. Good luck and don't be afraid of being honest. I for one think it helps!!!!

I think it may be that anyone who has a body altering surgery, goes thru this "what did I do" stage shortly after surgery.

When I had my first knee replacement, I asked myself that question for the first few weeks. And then I stopped.  When I did the second knee 2 years later, I didn't ask, I already knew how soon I would LOVE what I did.

Is it possible that what you need to do for your dog is exacerbating your feelings?  I know how terribly hard it is to do from experience and it may be in the subconscious making everything seem worse.  It certainly would be with me.

HUGS and take it easy on yourself.  You are dealing with more than you realize.
