I think you would do awesome with VSG. You're already committed to eating well, exercising and all the things you need to do to be successful with the sleeve. You're on your way!

I think you would do great with the sleeve but only you can know if you're ready for surgery or not. You already know you can lose the weight but keeping it off, not so much & that's when the sleeve can help you.

Sorry that the people you know were not successful in losing the weight, but it also sounds like they ate around their sleeve & did not commit to the lifestyle changes their surgery requires, thus they, not their surgery failed.

You've made the lifestyle changes & it sounds like you're committed to the process & I think you will succeed at wls. Good Luck in whatever you choose to do!

Thank you so much everyone! I can't tell you how much your words of wisdom and encouragement mean to me. I'd forgotten why I was so active on this board 3 years ago! I don't want to have another yo-yo failure to add to the list. I think you're all right -- the changes I've made will put me in a great position for surgery to be the tool I need to help keep the weight off. I even hit the 50 lb. mark this morning! Thank you!!

Best decision i have ever made! Love my new WLS tool. Remember to be compliant. You have really done well on your own. However the surgery would enable you to get to where you want to be. Good luck.

Sounds like you are already on the right track. The biggest thing is changing how you eat and sounds like the co worker who gained it back was not truly dedicated. im only 10 months out and I have days I can eat a whole 4 oz of chicken and days I barely manage 2 oz. Its about not forcing yourself to eat more and more and more which may be what he did.

You sound extremely dedicated so in my opinion you are ready and will succeed!

We all determine individually  how well we do post op. Also, Life after weight loss is a journey, unfortunately the journey doesn't stop at goal as you've learned. Heaven knows I've had regrets from the surgery- no more binging with food, loose skin, not enjoying ice water like I did before surgery but I absolutely know I would not have been this successful with weight loss had I not had the surgery ...
