Cravings

VSG for me clearly separated physical hunger cues from the mental/emotional cravings. Because I'd started therapy months before my surgery and had been working on emotional overeating, I was able to use that separation to really work hard with the techniques my therapist gave me to respond to the mental/emotional cravings. I'm not sure I'd have known what to do with it without the therapy.

I strongly recommend therapy with someone who has experience with eating disorders and body image issues if not before surgery then soon after. I credit therapy as much as the surgery with my success so far.

My cravings are head hunger. Wanting things just because. No it doesn't help with that. This is mental, and you have to fight it the whole way!
