Anyone adopt from Ukraine???
Hi Pat,
My husband and I adopted a baby internationally. We did not, however go to the Ukraine, we went to Colombia. My adoption experience, was incredible. The whole adoption took 90 days from application to bringing my daughter, Arianna Danielle, home. She was 3 months old when we got her. I'm sorry I can't offer any advice about the Ukraine. I can only tell you that adopting my daughter was and is the best thing I have ever done in my life. In Colombia, American's are revered highly and this makes the trip very easy. I am sure that everyone will be accomodating. Just be careful and use caution. Congratulations to both of you!

This isn't a very current post, but I thought I would reply anyway. I adopted my wonderful daughter from Ukraine on 12/18/2001. She was 18 months old, and is now 4 1/2 years old. Everything went very well there, and she is so precious and fantastic that I can't imagine life without her! If anyone has questions about international adoption or Ukraine, I would be glad to talk to them. My surgery date is coming up on 2/10/2005, so I may be out of commission for a few days. My home email address is: [email protected]
International adoption is such an amazing experience because of getting to know a new culture and incorporating into your own family. Even though Katya is caucasian, she still brings a uniqueness to our blend of cultures (mostly Swedish, Czech, Irish, and Welsh). I want to honor her heritage along with mine. Her heritage is part of me now. I would do this no matter what ethnicity she (or any future child?) would be.
Take care!
Cris
