We are in the process of adopting from China!

We are Dossier submitted as of 1/7/05, and our Dossier was Logged In on 1/27/05. We should receive our referral, hopefully, in July. Because of the Chinese New Year, we might not receive it until August. Then travel approx. 2 months after referral to pick up the baby! Yayyy!!! I agree that the international adoption process costs entirely too much. We would love to have another kiddo or two, so we are going to look into foster/adopt locally after about 1 year or so. Lisa, You're most of the way through the wait now! Lucky you - the wait is MUCH shorter than it was when we started our second adoption in '02. We were told 12 - 14 months from LID back then, but thank God, it dropped to about 8 months and we got our referral earlier than expected. We have two beautiful daughters from China, and as much as I wish we could go back again, I think we're done. I'm 45, and chasing after a 2 1/2 year old wears me out! Plus my husband complains that he'll have to work till he's 72! Our older daughter is 9, and in 3rd grade. It goes SOOOO fast - wasn't she 4 months old just yesterday, being placed in my arms? Beth
