Topic: ADOPTION: Hoping to adopt a child of any race or gender - drug exposed is okay!
My husband and I are hoping to build our family through adoption. We have an approved home study through a Christian Agency. Maybe you or someone you know is thinking about placing their child in an adoptive home. My husband and I are young, energetic, financially stable, well educated and can offer a stay at home mom, involved dad and supportive extended family. We would love to adopt a child of any race or gender, healthy or drug exposed - it doesn't matter to us because we will love our child with all that we are. We are hoping to have an open adoption with the birth family because we believe that they can offer so much to the child. If a closed adoption is requested then we will respect their wishes (we hope we can receive letters and pictures to show the child later). We would like the child to know that the adoption was an act of love and not abandonment. Anyone who can go through nine months of pregnancy and child labor then places in an adoptive home obviously loves their child because abortion could have seemed like the "easy way out". Feel free to ask us any questions or to call anytime. You can see pictures and family info a our blog! our site: http://ourjourneytoadoption.blogspot. com/ my cell is: 765-251-1791 email: [email protected]

I've adopted several times in the past and am now remarried and would like to adopt one last time with my new hubby. I live in Pa. and definitely have room in my home and my heart. Anybody know someone who might be interested?

Jennifer..first I hope your surgery went well. It's such an amazing journey. I am an adoptee who met my birthmom about 7 yrs ago. I have 5-1/2 siblings through her. I met my birthfather 2 yrs ago and 1-1/2 sibling with him. I have met them all. It's been one of the best things I've ever done. I am not that close with my siblings and I think that is more do to distance between us. I just wanted to say congrats on meeting your brother and I hope your surgery went well! Julie

Topic: RE: Adopted two kids
That is so awesome. I am in the process of adopting 2 more children. I adopted my first 2 when they were the ages of 8 and 13. They were foster children. Now I am in the process of adopting my second 2 and they are full blooded bro and sis and they are 3 and 5 I have had them for almost 2 years. What a blessing these kids are to all of us. I too am keeping my adoption open to the grandparents as well on both sides. And the maternal great uncle also has visitation.

I love children and would keep them all if I could but I am single and I feel that I have reacheed my limit for not.

That is so wonderful. So, how do your blood mother and you get along? I hope you find your half-brother one of these days.

Jennifer, I just came across your post. I am an adoptee who has found her birth mother. You are correct, the genealogy is amazing. We are so much alike. I do have a half brother that we have not found yet. I am still looking. My birth mother did put us into the adoption registry, just in case he is looking for us.

Topic: RE: PLEASE HELP!!
I have two adopted childen but both were adopted when they were a bit older. They have known from day one that they were adopted. My daughter was 2, my son 5.5. My son has never expressed any interest in knowing anything about his origins. I do not know to this day how much he remembers. He was extrememly anxious and worried from the time we picked him up until he set foot on American soil. We gathered that he was afraid we'd send him bac****il the big trip across the ocean. Then he settled down completely. (Both are from Siberia... a very long way away!). My daughter brings up the subject of her 'other mother' every once in a while. It used to upset me when she told me she worried about her. Now I take it in stride and tell her how brave her other mother must have been to give her up for a better life somewhere. They are now 10 & 14 and very well adjusted.

I was wondering if you were successful in your search to adopt a child of AA background? I have adopted thru One World in Deerfield Beach, FL twice and I have to say they are very good! They have a lot of babies. Faith
