Topic: RE: Find Birth Family
Hi lemme tell you what I did. I contacted the agency I was adopted thru. They then contacted my birth mother, and set the ball in motion. It cost me NOTHING. I started on Oct 13th 2003....and by NOV 13th I was reunited. I met my birth family and spent some time with them at Christmas.

Hi If you go thru an agency it might be less expensive and more solidified than trying to do it on a personal level. That way you have LEGAL restrictions and boundaries. Have you gone to the Arrow project.org? They are inexpensive (I think they are free). You should check it out. The Directors name is Greg, he is an aquantance of mine. Super nice guy. http://www.arrow.org/partnering/index.htm Alisa (reunited adoptee) Mom to madison (via adoption)

I want to adopt a baby of African American background but I do not want to go through the State Services. If anyone know of someone that is pregnant and financially not able to care of a child. Please let me know.

Topic: RE: PLEASE HELP!!
Jamie Lee Curtis wrote a book called, Tell me again about the night I was born. It's a beautiful story about a couple who were waiting to adopt a baby. Consider reading it to her, then explain to her how bad you wanted to be a mommy--gather some pcitures of her birth parents and explain to her want a "birth" family is. We hope to finalize the adoption on our son in November--and I plan on tell him that I prayed for a long time for a baby and he is the answer to my prayers. Start introducing her to the term adoption--make it a special thing.

Topic: New to list. Have adopted twice.
Hello all. I am new to the list and was banded on July 8th. Right now I am not losing because I am very hungry and seem to have no restrictions from the band. I don't get my first fill until aug. 15. Anyway, just wanted to say hello and that I have adopted as a single mother two daughters. My first is Mary Charles, age 4 1/2, adopted at 4 1/2 mos. from Hanoi, VN. Then Rebekah, age 2, came home from InnerMongolia, China last Dec. Rebekah was a special needs child with cleft lip/palate. thanks, cindy
