Topic: DALLAS WATER AEROBICS BUDDY WANTED
I have decided that I want July to be the month that I go ahead and get my weight loss to give up this plateau and move to 260. I know in order to do that I will need to keep doing protein, vitamins, and liquids. The area I have fallen down on is my exercise. I don't have transportation til 7 at night so I am just not exercising on a daily basis like I had been doing. My weight keeps bouncing around the same number or not moving at all for weeks at a time. I know the lack of consistent exercise is what is getting to me. There has lots been going on with stress and the blues from dealing with two family member's health issues. I am not a person who makes excuses so I can't blame that on the state I am in.
In taking a long hard look at what it will take for me to make progress, I have decided that having a workout buddy would make a huge difference. I think I need someone to be accountable to and be motivation buddies. Is there anyone in Dallas that would be willing to be my exercise buddy for the month of July? I workout at the Park Cities YWCA and the Mockingbird Curves. It be great to have someone to take water aerobics with at the Y. I live in Central Dallas (Knox & Central). Because of transportation issues, it would be great to find someone close by. Anyone game? Any trainers want to volunteer to work with me for a month and help me along?
I have 150 more pounds to lose to get to my surgeon's goal. I would be delighted to get within 30 pounds of that. It feels odd to me to ask for help because I am so private and independent. I have come to realize the wls journey requires support. I do have a solid eating and water program so I could be a good coach for someone in those areas. Maybe this could be a useful arrangement for both of us.
Please hold a good thought for me. I need this desperately for my peace of mind. I have come too far for my body to stop losing just cause I haven't gotten myself to the gym. I will do the work. I just need some support right now.
I wish you well in your journey.

Topic: Aquarobics in Modesto, CA????
I have been searching for a swimming class in my area with no luck. Does anyone have any info to pass along so I can get in the water and start losing more of my required 10%.
I have been approved for the surgery, met the surgeons, nutritionist, and have my second appt. with the head doctor on the 17th. I am in the process of losing the weight Kaiser requires to prove to them I am willing to change my life style to utilize the surgery to its fullest. I have very bad knees and my weight of 342 (I have lost 4 lbs in two weeks so far - big thing for me!!) just kills them!
Thanks for any help

I think it is a huge help. I can't walk on land but in the water I do a mile! plus other exercises. I would be lost without aqua exercise. My surgery is June 8, 2004 I'm hopeing I don't have to stay out of the water to long!

Topic: Is Anybody Doing Those Water Exercises?
Well I can see that not many people frequent this board, but I thought I'd break the norm.
I have been going to the League every week now since the doc gave the okay. I try to get in atleast 4 times a week, with one hour for the exercises and 15 minutes for the hot tub. Man do I enjoy that time. I feel like since I can't do the walking and other types of exercises, atleast I am doing something to help my weight loss along. What about you guys? Anybody know how many calories you burn swimming or doing water exercises? The physical therapist told me that kicking my legs burns more calories than floating or just swimming. What do you think? Well, later!
