My pets speak to me. No not in english or spanish or even french. I can't explain it but I know what they want about 70% of the time. It's not limited to my animals either. As a vet tech, I have "clicked" with several patients. Point in case. "fluffy"* a 3 year old, DSH, female/sp who was having problems with severe obesity she weighed nearly 15 pounds. The Dr. put her on a very strict diet of Hills Science Diet W/S Rx. prescription diet food. Upon re-examination two weeks later it was noted that she had gained a half pound. When questioned the owner responded that the kitty had only had the prescription diet with no treats. We kept "fluffy" to run some more tests. while "fluffy" was in the kennel area, I checked to make sure she had clean litter and fresh water. While I was attending to her I got the distinct feeling that she wanted more pizza. Peperoni and cheese pizza. When her owner returned to pick her up I asked if she had ever been given peproni and cheese pizza. The woman went deep red and replied that yes, It was "Fluffys" favorite treat. I must have caught the lady off guard and she admitted that she couldnt bear to hold back on the pizza and lunch meat and cheese bits that she gave "fluffy" for treats. So, having been caught she promised to work on changing her ways. Some of you must have had some kind of experience like this? Come on we wont laugh! Share!!

hi kimberly, I just found this board, so my post is late in coming. I have 4 dogs and I agree with you that some people have a way with animals and some don't. I groom a few dogs on part-time and usually I get told something like "he doesn't like the other groomer" by the owners. Dogs sense when people like them, just like people do. I think alot of people think that dogs are just stupid animals and they fail to have a relationship with them. If more people cared about their pets like they do their friends, there would not be so many rescue sites. I think its great that you are working as a vet tech, sounds like you belong. kat
