I salute SSG Johnny Ray Crider
I salute all the brave men and women who have recently departed from Fort Leonardwood, MO to support Operation Iraqi Freedom.
I am so thankful for the freedom we have in the United States. I am thankful that their sacrifice keeps us from harms way and future terrorist attacks.
God bless each and every family involved in this military operation.

Topic: RE: FORT HOOD meeting?
I have been on OH for weeks.. glued to it,., and JUST NOW found this board especially for Army // anyhow- There IS a fort hood support group. the Yahoo group you can join to get all of the info is :gastricbypassforthoodtexas .. we meet once a month (i think the next one is Dec 9th or something) at Darnell. I have only attended the Oct meeting, because i had other obligations on the same night of the Nov mtg- but it is a supportive group of ladies and i plan to go again in Dec, especially because i should be having my surgery in Dec too.. I just realized you posted your question in JUNE..lol.. better late than never, right? :D
Topic: Walter Reed does Lap band
I just wanted to pass this info on to any one who has Tricare and wants the lapband.
Officially Tricare does not cover the lap band,
However that's only if you want it done in a civilian Hospital. If you have the surgery done at a military hospital then it is covered I am having lap band done at Walter Reed in Washington DC. At Walter Reed they do the RNY and Lap Band.
If you would like more info contact me

Topic: RE: FORT HOOD meeting?
HEY EVERYONE,
Its good to see that there are some meetings in and around Killeen. I am from there and hoping to come home next month before Christmas. I had my surgery in Va. on the 22nd of March 2005. I am doing great. I have gone from 223 to 127lbs. Lovin life. Give me some ideas if you can about what time frame the next few meetings will be so if I can get home I can attend. Thanks so much!

If you go to the TRICARE web site, you will find an extensive list of providers in your areas. We are retired and just switched our civilian health insurance for TRICARE Prime and have no regrets at all.

Topic: RE: Wiesbaden, Germany
Hello, I am also here in Germany and have wondered where to find others for support since we do not have any support groups in the community. I am not in Wiesbaden, but Mannheim, if you ever want to chat, I'm here!
