Topic: RE: DENTA COVERAGE AND TRICARE
Hey Karly
Sorry so late getting back to you. This is what my husband said:
1.You have to sumbit paperwork to finance
2.You can get the paperwork from PAC, S1, or finance (he couldn't recall the name of the form)
Within a month you should be covered.
I hope this helps. Again, this is info according to SFC H. He's not always right although he thinks he is.
Have a great day

PS let me know how getting tricare to approve your lap band goes. I am also researching the surgery. I had a friend who told me that tricare's medical coverage is up for review jan 07. She seems to think that they will wise up at that time.
Topic: RE: Hello
alexandria has a lot of fun things to do. A lot of people goto toledo bend to the lake on the weekends. I would go like to a tourist center in alexandria. Theyw ould probably have brochures on things to do. They sometime offer discounts or give you free tickets. When we moved to fort leonard wood(MUCH more boring and isolated than fort polk)lol, we had our son. We went to the tourist center and found out about a lot of things that were within driving distance to do that we had no idea about. Even got free tickets and stuff. fort polk is attempting to make major improvements (so my friends who are still there tell me)
Hopefully you won't be stuck there long

Hi Christina,
Welcome to the army board. You will notice it is pretty inactive. I hope this will change in time. BTW, I was at fort polk 3 years ago. If it weren't for an awesome church and being 4 hours from my mom's doorstep, i would have died of boredom lol
Again, welcome

Hi Karly,
I believe it is something you have to sign up for separately. My husband is off from duty today so when he wakes, I will makre sure to ask. I have been married for nearly 6 years and I am still unknowledgeable in a lot of areas. There are classes you can take on base to educate you on benefits and such. I plan on checking into that, but right now grad school and a 2 yr old are taking up ALL my time. I will get back to you.

THE FINAL
INSPECTION
The Soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Dear Amy,
Tell your husband we are so proud of what he all the U.S. Military are doing. I feeeelllll so bad that he will be away so long but worse while you are going through this process. Retiring results in him having to do a 2 year tour seems inhumane??!. Your photo on your profile is what i look like being 2 weeks post op. i can only hope you have a job that keeps you busy because that will help..a little. I have only dealt with 6 mths. apart so who am i to give advice. You need family, friends, weight surgery support group, anything to keep you busy. Busy will help the time go a little quicker. If I was near you i would walk with you and go to your support group which is something i don't have so we would have been good for each other!!!!!!!! I'm a little to far from you! I hope your military family community center has advice and support.
all the best,
Jennifer
