1. The best advice I can give you, is if/when you are going to move, start calling band doctors in the area you are going to move to and find out if they will help you. Some doctors have no problem taking on other doctors' patients, but some wont touch 'em.
2. I work for my surgeon and he will take on other patients for certin reasons. Your reason would be a reason he would take you on. He would want operative notes and he wants to keep your surgeon up to date as to what is going on. He will just send an update letter to him every so often.
Good Luck...Now that is for my surgeon but I would think for military most surgeons would work with you.

Hi Karly,
I am also interested in lapband. The Army forum is normally pretty inactive. I have found another site that has offered a lot of helpful information. Try www.lapbandtalk.com. Post your question and I am sure you will get plenty of responses. I would also like to know the answer to that question. So keep me posted!

Topic: Moving to The Netherlands!
Hello everyone,
Well I just wanted to let everyone know that my family and I are moving. The military tells us that we are moving to The Netherlands this summer. We will leave CA the middle of June and go to TN to visit with family before heading overseas. We have to be there by mid July. I will have internet and email up until we leave in July and then after that I don't know, who knows how long it will take before we get internet. I know when we lived in Germany a few years ago it took months to get internet and phone, hopefully it won't take as long as that.
So if any of you know anyone from The Netherlands please let me know. I need to find a WLS support group there as soon as I can.
Take care,
Becky

Topic: RE: Hello everybody, Question about PCM/PCP
Sandy,
I don't (we are at Ft. Knox), but have you heard of a website called www.cinchouse.com ? Go there and the ladies there will help you to no end!@ I am a new military wife, and have found it most helpful!
I think if you go to the homepage, and click on "find my base" there may be something there to help, if not, try to navigate thru the site (chat, or cafe) and ask them there!
Good Luck!

Topic: Just found the Army board and have a question...
I've posted this on two other boards but one more won't hurt. We are stationed in Hawaii and not scheduled to PCS until Feb/Mar of 07 but my husband has a chance to curtail in December to N.C. Does anyone know of a good nutritionist and possibly surgeon in the Fort Bragg area? We have been looking at houses in the Raeford area also. Neither of us have ever lived in North Carolina and don't much about the area and any information would be helpful.
Thanks in advance,
Jamie
Topic: RE: Hernia repair?
Jennyfer, I was denied a TT but approved for the hernia repair. I did have my muscles tightened. I did pay the difference my self to have the TT at the same time. I am in the Tri-West region because we live on the west coast. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago today. I have know others that have gotten both the hernia repair/tt done at the same time and covered by Tri-West. They had pictures of their rashes where as I did not. So I would suggest to you that you take pics and also go to the doctor and have your rashes documented. Do this every time and also make sure they make notes of it in your records. Just a suggestion.
I hope that it works out for you!!

Topic: Hernia repair?
Hello, I have been referred to general surgery for them to evaluate my hernias. I am not sure if they will be doing it here on base or will send me to a civilian.
My question is, have any of you been approved for a hernia repair and tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), with a grade 1 apron and very little irritation/skin infection issues?
Any of you been approved for only the hernia repair and were told that they weren't approving the tummy tuck?
I am getting nervous and worried, besides this constant pain from the hernias.
I really want the skin gone...and the hernia repaired, oh and a couple million $$$$
Thanks.
JennyferB
p.s.
I have had a few friends that recently had Tricare approve their panniculectomy (results of c-sections, not weight loss related). They didn't get the muscle tightening approved because there was no muscle damage. They have about the same amount of hanging skin or a bit more.

Topic: Need Help - National Guard Waiver Letter
Hi
I am trying my hardest to go back into the service now that my weight is down. The regular services say no, but the National Guard recruiter is willing to work with me on the waiver. I have seen other on-line who have gotten in.
My doctor and suregeon are willing to do the waiver letters for me, but want to know what to say and what format. Can anybody PLEASE help me.
If you have a sample i would appreciate it. No personal info. of course. Just the letter contents or what it should say.
Thanks, Tom
