Thinking about Lap band surgery Thailand?

Does any one have any experience with Bankok Thailand? I am thinking about having lab band surgery there? Is it safe?

Sorry this reply may be too late. Actually had RNY surgery in USA, but had all my plastics in Bangkok as I know live in Singapore. Which hospital are you looking at? I had my surgery at Bumrungrad which is an excellent international standard hospital in Bangkok. Don't know anything about lapband surgery I am afraid and so can only vouch for this particular hospital in terms of its standard of care in my experience. Good luck Kim

I know this is very late but i only just joined this group.  A year ago I had lapband surgery in Bangkok Thailand.  It was done at the Ramatibodi Hospital by a doctor Theerapon.  Everything went well.  If you still are interested I will be glad to give you more info.

There are some very fine hospitals in BKK. I would look at Bumrungrad, Bangkok Nursing Home and Samitivej Sukhumvit. I had surgery at Sam (not bariatric) and it was great. The Thai nurses are not only nice, they are sweet. Sam is my hospital of choice. My wife had a procedure done at Bumrungrad and everything went fine.

One warning about Thai hospitals. You probably will want to go to a private hospital. Be careful about your appointment time. If you are given an evening appointment it probably means the doctor is working days at a government hospital and part time at the private one till he can get on full time. I avoid that situation because he probably is doing general practice days and only doing specialty part time.

I am not in Thailand at present and have been unable to find out costs.
