My 10 year old started her period last Thursday. OMG I was shocked! I thought we had atleast another year or two before we had to deal with this. But OH NO!!!!! So anyway, I took her to her doc and said I want it stopped. I work and do not want her teachers to have to deal with this. I don't wanna deal with it. Gosh. Not to mention that Morgie was concerned about it. Anyway, we gave her the Depo-provera shot to stop it. So I have to wait until next month to see if it has stopped it. Doc said sometimes it takes a few months to stop completely. If you have an Autistic daughter you know my concerns. Just wanted to let you know what we did so you can make that decision ahead of time. Susan

My 10 almost year old sister is high functioning but she got hers about 6 months ago. Thankfully she has learned how to take care of changing her pad and stuff. But we never thought about having it stopped what a good thing to know thanks for sharing!

My 10 yr old did the same thing. I am considering the same thing. She is just not mature enough for it.
