My first Nascar Race!

I finally went to a real Nascar Race here at California Speedway in Fontana on Labor Day weekend. I am a Rusty Wallace #2 fan and my Husband is a Dale Jr #8 fan. We had a Great time even though it was a sweltering 103 degrees! The track was very big, we sat at the turn#1 and was able to see turn #2 and the pits. I was just mezmorized with the night lights reflecting on the cars as they zoomed by. It was so awesome!!!! I would love to go to a smaller track, I understand there is a smaller one in Arizona. I will have to look into it. Go NASCAR!

Hi Margaret! Congratulations on going to the race. I'd love to go to one, maybe Bristol night race. I too am a Rusty fan, what are we going to do after next season when he retires. Everybody in my family has a different driver. For me it's Rusty, my hubby's is Dale Jarrett #88, the oldest boy likes Tony Stewart #20, and the youngest was a Dale Earnhardt fan who was heartbroken (like many others) when he died has finally taken to Kasey Kahne #9.

Margaret! Glad you enjoyed the former 'Southern 500' now moved to Fontana. I laghed like crazy when they had to red flag the race just to pick up all the hot dog wrappers blowing around the track! Phoenix International Raceway is about 20 miles west of Phoenix just a ways south of I-10. Just south of the Gila 'river' in the Estrella Park area. 1 mile track. They have a race coming up in November. Tami, I have been to Bristol for the spring race but had to turn down fall tickets this year I did go to Dover twice this year. I would love to go to Watkins Glen. I like Jeff Gordon, Dale Jarrett, Ryan Newman and Tony Stewart. Sorry but I get tired of hearing Rusty whine. LOL Personally I am more of a Drag Racer! Enjoy. Don

Hey Don, Looks like I'm going to have to find a new driver. Rusty's retiring, I'm leaning toward Elliot Sadler We have a pretty good drag race track around here. National Trails raceway is about 20 miles from Columbus. They have a big to-do out there Tami

Sadler OK. My neice loves him because his is the M&M car. LOL I planned to go to Nat'l Trails in Oct 2003 for the Mopar Nats but had to back out. My buddy won first place. This year another buddy was there and had his stuff stolen. Them's the breaks.
