I agree with you completely Angie. DEI reigns, but Rusty's not such a bad guy (and now that he's not drivin' a Ford, I can actually like him .. lol). I didn't make it to the restart last night after the red flag. I just couldn't keep my eyes open another minute. My hubby came in and woke me up to tell me how it turned out. Next stop, the twin 125s, then the truck race, the Busch race .. and then TAAAAAAAA DAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!! .. the 500 !!!!!!!!! woooooooohooooooooooo take care, Mo

I can't believe how exciting the end of the race was. I hope that is a good sign of how the rest of the season will go. Although DEI has my heart I was sure glad to see Rusty close to the front for awhile - - He needs a win. I was already excited for Daytona and now I can't wait!!!

Hi Angie, We will be in Charlotte again in October. We love Charlotte and it works well for us. I have made a lot of 'racing' buddies in the Yahoo auto racing chat room and we have an open house at our campsite every year in May. It is always a lot of fun. Mo

Maureen, Congratulations and Good Luck. Charlotte is one of my "Got To Go" Tracks. We are going to go to Talladega in April. I set a goal for myself of 80lbs by then and since I'm at 58lbs that shouldn't be a problem. I know what you mean about the walk - it can be a killer. Which race are you going to in October? We live less than 20mi from Kansas City. They are really pushing the weather having it here so late in October! Might just be the first Nascar race called on account of SNOW! My step son will be graduating from Air Force Basic Training the week of the Texas Race and since we will already be there it would sure be nice to go if we can swing it. Give me time I'll figure out a way to do it!! Angie

I guess I'm just stuck in a rut, because I don't care how often they say "NEXTEL Cup" - - it will always be The Winston Cup to me! It's even painted on our ceiling in the "Dale Room" and I'm not about the change it! I'm not too sure about the points race. Seems to me a lot of great champions have come out of the old one. It's kinda like the saying if it's not broke don't fix it!! I'm not a huge Matt Kennsth fan but if I was him I'd be pretty ticked off. This way has been fine since the beginning of Nascar and the year that he won the title by a landslide it's suddenly not good enough anymore!!! 8 Days and counting!!! Angie Open RNY 11/10/03

Topic: Charlotte in May

If all goes as planned (surgery date scheduled for 3/22/04), I will be just about 2 months post op when I arrive at Lowes for the Truck race, the Nextel (*ack* .. do we REALLY have to call it that ??) All Star race, then a week of doing whatever we want to do (or I feel up to doing), then the Busch race and the Coca Cola 600. This will be my 6th May trip to Charlotte, and in many ways will be a whole new beginning too. I can't wait to be able to walk from the campsite to the track without having to stop every 15 feet to rest. And even more, I am looking forward to my October trip when there will be so much less of me and I can fit more comfortably into my seat.

Don't forget Mikie....Hi! I am a native of Kannapolis, N.C. I grew up with Dale Earnhardt...in fact had a daycare at one time and he would bring Kerry to my nursery on Saturday nights while he raced. Kannapolis is a very small town so I was really shocked to find out that folks stood in line for hours for his autograph. Funny thing as a very young driver...was not wealthy and I actually gave him a reduced rate at my nursery....can you believe that....Everyone pulls for Jr. so I became a Mikie fan when we lost big Dale. If I can figure out how to do it...will post a picture of Kerry and I a couple of years ago...CAN'T WAIT UNTIL DATONA...and have you seen the commercial where Jr. Makes a touchdown in his car? I think it is a NEXTEL one....I am hoping to have surgery soon...so wish me luck...and all of DEI too.
