Hi Chrisine from Maine, one of my best friends is from Maine. She calls herself a "Maniac." I am eight pounds away from my personal goal and surpassed my doctors goal 17 pounds ago. I just bought my first bathing suit last weekend. It is so exciting. Still have the fat girl insecurities though. Gotta get through them. I live on the island of Maui in Hawaii and we have a lot of great beaches to use it. Take care and thanks for sharing. Hugs

Hi Christine, I love San Diego too. My best friend lives there and we went last summer. I live on the island of Maui in Hawaii so I am biast. I feel the best beaches are here on Maui. My favoirte is the beach in Lahina. The water is so clear you can see your feet and all the fish swimming around your feet. The water is warm too. Take care and sending you lots of warm aloha

Hi Amanda, I love the beach too. That is funny about not liking seafood. I live on the island of Maui in Hawaii so I am so fortunate to have access to so many amazing beaches. The water is warm, green, blue and clear. Many of our beaches have powder white sand. We even have a red sand beach and two black sand beaches. Thanks for sharing. Aloha

I'm on the opposite coast from you, but I also love the ocean! For us (in the greater Seattle area) it's a 3 -4 hour drive, so I don't get to the coast all that often, but I always have such peace there. I have to get an "ocean fix" at least once every year.
I see, too, that we're both scheduled for lap rny within 6 days of each other -- mine will be 11/2/04. I'll keep you in my prayers between now and then!

Hello Everyone! I see that nobody really posts here, but I thought I'd drop a line! I'm currently pre op Lap RNY. I live in Southern Maine. I love anything to do with the ocean...whether it be sitting and reading a book or stolling the beach. Just think, next year maybe I'll be walkin the beach in a bathing suit and not worried what everyone thinks!

I also love the beach. The ocean is so calming and centering. I love the beaches in Hawaii. I love listening to the waves crash and swimming and boating, snorkeling, photographing and even just sitting on the beach.

Your beaches are very different from mine. I've lived in Texas all my life, so I'm used to Gulf of Mexico beaches. The first time I saw the west coast, it was a new experience. The ocean is so much wilder than the gulf. But it's the wildness of the ocean that I love. I've never been to Seattle--just California. How old are your boys? I have girls--four and thirteen.
