Rode 10.8 miles and felt awesome! Could have done a little more, but remeember I'm way further along post-op than you were. I'm riding on Geax Tatto's which are listed as a freestyle tire "designed to withstand high pressures." Guess my bike shop listened to my 375 weight and decided to give me some insurance. Definitely not a smooth street tire, but closer to your hybrid. It's a wiiiiide tire too. I have a cycling computer (Polar CS200cad) so I'm getting mph, heartrate, cadence, and mileage. Definitely had to contrate on drinking more often than pre-op when I could chug the water down...

I have a cateye computer so it just gives me the basic information, and yes, I really miss the chugging, now I see the benefits of the camelbak sip system. ;) http://tinyurl.com/jhx3s then you can sip and spin the day away. how was that tofu?

Nice! I have the M.U.L.E., which is a 3L capacity. I even take it to work to use as a water consumption goal. I didn't take the tofu. I really need something to take in case I bonk at some point. I've tried eating 1/6 of a Cliff Bar and didn't dump, so that might be an option. My buddies use Cytomax powdered drink mix. Maybe I'll put some super-dilute solution in a bottle...

I have tried cliff bars (lived off of them before wls) but did not get any power from them. no fuel at all. which was a bummer. I have found that you get some zip from zipfizz but I usually can not get a whole 16 oz down before I just bleah out on them. I do better with it if I mix it on ice chips and then top off with water. I cook up a center cut pork loin, cut it into 1 oz chunks, zip lock bag it and take a couple. for some reason it gives me the power without the 'sweets' that I get from a protien shake. (that stuff has so much splenda, it would choke a horse). for the last 6 weeks, I have been walking (on vaction) about 4 - 8 miles a day, some up and some down hill. tomorrow if it cools off, I will go back out on the bike and see if I can not get a few miles in. I just got some true lemon today http://www.truelemon.com/ and this stuff rocks for thirst busting! my tummy is super duper sensitive to plain spring water, and it preferrs ice chip cold or piping hot, but I was able to pack a bottle of true lemon around and drink it.

okay, I took the summer off from riding, did 7 weeks of walking. worked different muscles. now back to riding. I am only riding about 3 times a week, and only about 4 miles each ride. it is true, if you do not use it, you lose it.
