I had an early morning meeting today, so knew that going to my jazzercise class would be cutting it close, so I decided to stay home and try the new Pilates DVD that I bought on the weekend. It is the "You Can Do" series from Leslie Sansone. I keep thinking I'm really getting in shape, then I try something new like Pilates and it kicks my butt!!! Just goes to show how you really need to keep mixing up your workout. What this showed me this morning is that my flexibility needs a whole lot of work! What did you do to move your body today? Also, I'm hoping to get in a walk today. Today is my first day to wear a pedometer. I'm really going to try for the 10,000 steps a day in addition to the other stuff I'm doing. Hopefully, this will get the scale moving again!!!! Lori

Wow Marie, jogging? I doubt I'll ever be able to do that, due to my joint problems. Have you ever seen the Leslie Sansone DVDs called "Walk Away The Pounds"? I like them for beginners because she has you do all these low impact movements walking in place, stepping from side to side and doing low kicks. She also has you use light weights at the same time. You get a very good workout. She has the 1 mile, 2 mile, 3 mile and 4 mile. You may want to start with the 1 mile. Even though you walk farther than that, with the weight lifting and stuff it is a harder workout. I wish you and I weren't so far apart, I'd show you lots of stuff that my trainer showed me when I was a beginner. Lori P.S. I really think you are doing great!

I did .75 miles on the armbike. No dusting or mopping today (YAY!). I still haven't gotten to the vacuuming, and I decided I don't care if I ever do! Kix

Kix, Good for you on the armbike...keep on a pedaling those arms! I have a cleaning lady, but, she has bi-polar disease and is currently in the hospital. When she has an episode like this, she is usually in for about a month. I don't have the heart to let her go. Well, I did once and ended up hiring her back. She does such an excellent job and when her meds are regulated properly, she does great. Anyway, long story short, now I have to clean my own house. With my full time job, part time radio show and all the exercise I do and the concerts I attend, I'm home very little. But, I have 9 cats, so the house really gets dirty, even without me. So, now, I'm trying to do a bit each day...which means my house is never all clean at once....housework is such a pain...now I remember why I hire someone. I'll put my miniature violin away now. Lori
