Hi all! Hope everyone is reading this and can help! I am a big gal. I am 6 feet tall and around 500 lbs. I currently am looking for a car. Any car. Old or New. I am having a hard time with this. I went to a dealership and tried on the New Ford Focus and Escape. OH MY GOD! Too tight. Very Embarrasing! The last thing I want to do is try on cars with everyone around. Any ideals?

I bought a Saturn VUE. I had a Saturn sedan before that and it was tough getting out of it. Felt like I needed a car sized shoe horn! I had an old mini van before that, but that was even too tight a fit near the end. I wouldn't even attempt a Ford Focus. I couldn't fit in my parents Ford Tempo! Look for something that you can put the seat and forth easily, and not too low to the ground. If I could get into it, I had an even harder time prying myself out of it! Good luck! Huggs, Ruth

Rachel!!!!! you have to try the Honda Element!! I love it. It is the roomiest vehicle I have ever driven. I am well over 350 lbs and the ceiling height is ridiculously high!!!! I love it. I tried all those other SUV's and was horrified. The Honda Element is the best vehicle i have ever owned or driven. Even my husband who has been a hardcore Ford man loves it too!!!!!! Please let me know what you think! Jennifer

Try a Ford WindStar, that is what I drive, They have recently been replaced by the FreeStar, I don't know about them, they do seem similar though.

I've driven my Dodge Intrepid at 435+lbs. It's wide with lots of room inside. I should mention though that I don't have a console in the middle of the front seats. My front seat is almost like a single seat across the front, so plenty of room to spread out. Good luck! Mercy

Rachel, I am 5'11 600 pounds. The Chevy has the largest cab in the industry. I didn't want a truck but had to for ability to get behind the wheel. I used to have a pathfinder it was nice because the entrance was like a walk in. Keep the tires small so it is low to the ground and you can step right in. I hope after my surgery I can buy a regular car. Mine is a used chevrolet silvarado 4x4. good luck michel
