When DId You Notice The Weight Loss?
Howdy Everyone,
I was sitting here wondering for you when did the weight really started to melt off. I know tha everyone's body is different, but as Is it here I am curious because, I am scared that I could be a "slow loser" although I haven't been weighed since, I was @ the doctors last month. I've read where some people have lost 31 pounds in one week, and all I lost was 8 when, I had my surgery....so I'm curious. Thanks in advance to those that answer this post

Morning TT
. For me I think that it took a few weeks to start noticing, ie, the way my clothes fit. Other people started really noticing when I started to buy clothes that fit as oppossed to the clothes that were hanging off of me. I would say for me it was about a good three months for me. Everyone will probably have a different answer because we all lose differently and in different places of the body. This has just been my expierence with myself.

Hi!
Well, initially I'd say after a couple months. Then it seemed like forever before I saw another change. My surgery was in June, and I think it was like Dec before I changed sizes again, but I went all the way from 28 to 22.. and now I've been in that size forever also. My top half is smaller though, like an 16-18..but the bottom half is very slow losing. Good luck!
I've lost 82 lbs so far on a pre-op diet and it wasn't until recently that I began to actually notice the weight loss body-wise. What I noticed first was that I could get around a bit better, my breathing wasn't as labored, etc.
In the past week, I have started to notice that my clothes are actually starting to feel loose, plus my fat is starting to hang in ways that just ain't pretty!

Hi T,
I had to lose 20 lbs pre-op. So, when I had my surgery, I think I lost about 7 or 8 the first week, then it dropped down right away to about 2 to 3 lbs a week. I felt discouraged, but, I have to tell you that now that I've lost 143 lbs (it will be a year in 2 more weeks) I look so much better than the patients who lost much faster than me. My skin is adjusting nicely (I still have some hanging skin, but, not like other patients) my hair and skin look vibrant and healthy. I don't have that "looks like I've had cancer look".
It is so hard to be patient in this process. I have been on a stall now for about a month. I exercise like crazy, but, my body isn't budging. So, today, I went and met with my nutritionist and she thinks my diet is very good, but, that I need to limit my carb intake to no more than 25 grams per meal. I eat 5 times a day. That is about 1/2 of the carbs per day I'm getting now...so it won't be easy, but, I no she is right!
As far as really noticing my weight loss, it took me about 3 months to really start changing sizes, then at about 6 months, I couldn't wear anything I owned, not even my shoes!
This is quite a process T!

I look in the mirror and I dont notice a thing. The scales I dont seem to register with them. The first thing I noticed is that my legs was not swelled anymore. I also noticed after a few weeks I seem to have more mobility and my breath isnt as short. I have only lost around 45 lbs in almost three months. But those 45 llbs have made a major difference in my life. I know I have been looking for some clothes as most of mine are getting to big. And I am afraid to buy anything as I am afraid it wont fit. I have been looking at thrift store and garage sales. I will probably have to give some money to my aunt and let her buy them. She is good at picking what looks good on me anyway. well I am sorry didnt mean to write a book. It will come off TT. Just be patient. love marie
