Well i recieved the results from my sleep study yesterday and everything was normal the doctor say i just snore loudly which should be helped by weight loss. So i am just wondering i don't have sleep apnea, diabetes, high cholestral or breathing problems so in a nutshell im truley blessed i guess i am just overweight . my question is will this hurt me when i submitt to my insurance for surgery . my bmi is 57 but i don't really have any co-morbities. Should i be worried?

I am thinking you may have co-morbidities that haven't occured to you. We become so accustomed to pain and limitations we don't always see them as what they are.

I believe it would depend on what your insurance requires but with a 57 BMI just your weight alone should be enough. My bmi was 57 also the day of surgery. The only co-mor- I had pre-op was high cholestoral but the insurance wasn't even aware of that so I believe my bmi is what qualified me on its own. Check your insurance it should say what the requirments are. Good luck on your journey, Jennifer 361(highest) / 250/ 175ish

Leslie, My BMI was 57.1, my co-morbidities were mild high blood pressure and arthritis and I qualified. Good luck! Lori P.S. My bmi is 35.1 now...woohoo! 384/242/168

Hey leslie, I was one of the fortunate type also. All I had was high blood pressure and just had started getting that. But my bmi was 67 and they documented how I cant do this and that without hurting. So having joints that kill ya quality for sure. I had just gotten to where I couldnt do alot anymore but other things were fine. I was just a lucky fat girl lol.... Hugs Marge
