Well, in keeping with my new goal of getting in more than 10,000 steps a day (by my pedometer). I ended up doing about a 40 minute walk last night. This pedometer has really been a great motivator for me to look for the very farthest parking spot and always take the stairs. I never thought in a million years I'd be like this! Today, I went to a circuit jazzercise class. I tried to modify stuff to take care of my knees. What did you do to move your body today? Lori 384/241.5/199

Lori..Wooo went to the gym for the first time in about..ooo let's see 4 years I think. I overdid it as usual. I got excited and my neighbor who has never worked out was trying to do it all in one night, of course she weighs about 110lbs so it was easier for her. My husband said you need to take it slower or you'll give out and not want to continue or worse hurt yourself. So taking his advice (which I NEVER do) I'm going to take it slower tonight. Last night I: Did 10 mins on the treadmill with some incline, 5 mins on the stair climber,35 mins on the bike. Then just to try them out we did some weights: I did two sets of 15 on 3 leg machines and two sets of 15 on 2 arm machines. I was afraid to do any tummy machines because one of the leg machines pulled at my belly and it was hurting. Tonight is supposed to be our strength training night so I wil stear clear of the one leg machine and try to take it a little easier, less weight. I will be 6 weeks out on Friday and I'm supposed to be able to do anything I want then. The only problem is my tummy has been hurting a little, not really bad but just kinda nagging at me. I sure don't want to have any problems and have to have them cut me open again so I guess taking it slow is the way to go. I am proud of myself for hanging in there last night. I actually got a lot of water in too. Take care and have a GREAT workout everyone!! Jamie

Jamie, I so appreciate your enthusiasm, but, again want to put out the warning about not overdoing it! My surgeon didn't release me to any weight lifting until I was 12 weeks out...I know she is conservative, but, you don't want to get a hernia!!!! Keep the enthusiasm for working out though! It is so important. Lori

I did my mile on the armbike. Now that I'm ready to rest, the guest dog wants to play fetch! Kix

Too bad you couldn't put that dog on a treadmill next to you while you do your armbike. Lori

Hi Lori, I went and walked at the track with my support group. We walked for an hour. Last Friday we went to the court house with my step-son. I walked up and down the steps instead of using the elevator. I walked to my car twice to get myself bottles of water. Later that day hubby and I went to the movies. No one was in there (we got there early) and I walked around the inside the movie theatre we were in. I walked up and down the stairs several times. I worked up a little sweat. LOL Take care, Diana

Marie, Walking is always good...yes, the body reacts when you add new workouts. Every time I think I'm getting in pretty good shape and try something new, my body aches! Lori
