it's a foot again

PTL the cast is gone, the boot is off, the dr. xray says it's a foot again. i can walk. i can bike. i can do stairs. i can wear shoes. my relief is palpable. i was sooo worried i might end up wearing the boot longer since the last time he xrayed it still showed a shadow where the healing was taking place. but it's all good. so now i've got about two weeks to walk and bike and regain full use, before the motorcycle class begins. getting excited about it, too. found a 500 suzuki with very few miles on it and my dh (aka best mechanic ever) is getting it into best possible running order before the girls and i start to ride it. i would like to thank everyone who's been there cheering me along and helping me through the low spots - y'all know who you are. this has got to have been the longest nine weeks of my life. as my podiatrist said, it's the inconvenience of it more than anything. the crutches and cast were truly difficult. the boot was less of a hassle. but being without both is the best. have a great week, everyone. talk to you soon. dorthe

Yeah Dorthe!!! I bet it feels sooo good to get that thing off your foot finally!! I had a fractured foot a couple of years ago..so I kinda know how you feel. I never had to go through the cast part..but I did the boot thing (no fun) I'm sooo glad you got your freedom back..just in time for the summer and all the new activities you can do with your new bod and new mobility.
