Hello All! I have come to the conclusion that I am not a ordinary person when it comes to exercising. I in no way enjoy it and is very boring to me.... I on the other hand "love" dancing. Yes, I have gotten to where I like dancing. I turn the tv on to the satillite channels of music and boogie down... I would die if anyone saw me of corse lol. But seems like I just enjoy the freedom of the dancing and moving my bits and pieces. Even though I just about have to turn the tv up to hear the music over the flippin and flappin of the skin lol... And lets dont forget me just about swingin my big ole hips out of joint till im scared they'll go threw one of my windows in the livingroom lol.. But I say whatever makes you move and get some cardio in. And I sweat like im running from the police.. So everyday this week im gonna kick it up a knotch till am doing it for an hr everyday. And pray this plateau goes away soon... So to all you closet dancers ( never have I danced in my life) does this mean I was a 400lb stripper waiting to happen? If so I missed my calling ugh!! Hugs from dancin Marge

Margaret! Dance it off Baby! Whatever you enjoy to exercise is what you should do. One thing that has really made exercise "easy" for me is that I listen to books on my iPod when I take my big walks or when I'm on the treadmill. I lose myself in the book and forget that I'm getting exercise at the same time. My only problem is, when I take off on my big 4 to 5 mile walks along the canal, listening to a great book, I sometimes go to far, then I'm very tired getting home. But, that goes to show how I lose myself in the book! Keep on moving! Lori

OT: Lori, I was trying to see if I want an IPOD or MP3 player. What is the difference? Since you have one, thought you might know. The kids say the IPOD can do videos, but I don't care about that, but I would be interested in the books like you mentioned. And then, what kind of fee do you have to pay to get that stuff? Thanks for any help.

Kelli - I've got an Ipod too. My husband insists he wants an mp3 player. Expense is a major diffrence. Also Ipod is pretty much only compatable with mp3's downloaded from Itunes. Whare as some mp3 players work with multiple download sites. Songs are generaly about $1 a pop for me, though I've heard that wal mart has an mp3 site that does them for 80 something cents. I personally am fine with my ipod! I got the shuffle, limiting myself to about 120 songs. don't know if it helped! I'd say find a good mp3 player that's compatable with napster. They have a nice deal for mp3s.

Well this is my second try posting this so lets see if this one takes... Have you tried the Richard Simmons tapes? He has some good music on some of them. I personally have quite a collection and haven't thought pulling them back out until I saw your thread. I used to use them all the time BUT ....then I'd go off the wagon. I frequently turn up the stereo and boogie down with the kiddos they love it. It doesn't matter how you get there girl just move those buns!!! GREAT BIG HUGS TO YOU GA GIRL!!! Jamie

Dancing is a very good exercise. So if that is what works for you. Just dance away. I am sure that I look funny doing my leslie sansone dvds too. but I dont care. Caring what other people thought is one of the ways I ended up having to have WLS in the first place. So you just dance your way to a healthier you. love marie

I love to dance! Don't care who sees me. I bet I'm the only one all the time on the elliptical machine at the gym, dancing as I go.
