I didn't go to the gym last night and I hate that guilty feeling. My neighbor made it worse by getting upset with me. She was nice about it but she was still upset. My husband asked me to stay home with him and I did. It was nice sitting down to dinner with my family again. Usually he's just coming in from work and I'm headed out the door giving him directions about the dinner I've just cooked. Anyway I'll be going tonight. Jamie

Jamie, You did the right thing. Family time is very important. At some point the guilty feelings will be replaced with the endorphin addiction if you miss the gym! Then you have to go. Lori

I just finished my mile on the armbike. My presurgery class is tonight, so I will probably do some walking at the clinic. If not, I'll do a bit of walking when I get home. The weather will be cooler then, too. Kix

Lorraine, This is a lot for how new out you are! Do you own the treadmill? If so, it might be better to start out in 15 minute intervals. You could do 2 a day for a total of 30 minutes. Working up slowly is the best way! I'm so glad you are taking exercise to heart though! Lori

Hey Lori, Girl talk about working out!! Jeez, you get it done huh? Thats great to that you can feel that good to do so. I am still amazed that I move as easily as I do now. Surely not like four months ago ugh!! I started the dancing yesterday with thirty non stop so today kicked it up to thirty five minutes. I am 45 so seventies music I love. Anything but abba (sorry tanja, she likes them lol) working my way up to full hour non stop!! Hugs Marge

Marge, Good for you! I think your dancing goals are great and fun! My workout routine has evolved over a 9 month period. I've really worked up to it. Last August, I started with a daily 45 minute walk. In early September, I met with a trainer to get started with strength training. He was great, because he agreed to meet with me once every 6 weeks and give me a new routine. Just about the time the 6 weeks was up the routine would get easy, then I'd get a new challenge. It has really help me progress. I can actually feel muscles (not big muscles like a guy, but firmness in my back, legs and arms) too bad I have excess skin hanging around them! Anyway, my point is, with exercise, you have to keep challenging yourself with new stuff to keep getting results. About every 6 to 8 weeks up it in some way. You'll be dancing in the streets in no time! Lori
