Gym Is Open (Thursday)
Yesterday before the gym I was taking a nap. I try to take it easy when I can. I've been called lazy more than once since surgery so it kinda upsets me that they can't see that I'm still trying to heal.
I've relaxed some on my house cleaning and just do the basics. I have this terrible urge to just give this apartment a huge once over, I think that's because we should be moving in about 8 months and I want it to be a smooth one.
Some mornings I just want to lie in bed but no such luck. I'm trying really hard to get in all my vitamins and water. Today I decided to take a look at the Isopure I was drinking before surgery and found that I can have it now too. My husband thought it had sugar but it doesn't so I'll start drinking that tonight. (50 grams for 2 scoopfuls)
I find that I'm having a real problem with dinner: if I eat before the gym I'm rushed and if I eat after I feel horrible and it's so late I hate eating that late. I've got to come up with some kind of solution.
Sometimes I leave for the gym ready to go and sometimes I really don't want to go but usually after a few minutes on the treadmill I'm raring to go.
I think I'm just ready to be back to my old self and do the things I used to..plus more. When I got on the scale last night it said 250 but I'll wait and weigh next Monday and see what it says then.
I guess I have my good days and bad I just wish I could be lazy when I want without someone saying get up do something isn't that why you had surgery?!
I hope all that makes sense my brain is moving faster than my fingers today.
Take care,
Jamie
Jamie,
When I first had my surgery, the thing that surprised me most was how tired I felt all the time. I seemed to require a whole lot of extra rest. I took naps every day for at least the first 6 to 7 weeks, maybe longer. I just know I was back at work by then. That does get better, but, it does take time.
You can only absorb 30 grams of protein at one time, so I recommend using only 1 scoop of the isopure. Then maybe have some at a different time during the day.
All this stuff will get easier, I promise!!!!
Big Hugs,
Lori
Hi Lori,
I walked two miles in my neighborhood.
I did one mile on the gazelle.
I also did my arm and leg exercises on
the home gym.
woohoo!! I found a walking buddy. The lady across the street saw
me walking and wants me to call her whenever I go walking.
I love walking with my support group, it's just a little far and seems
like it takes my whole evening up.

Can't believe I almost forgot to post today. I did my little walk (to the next door neighbor's house and back, twice), albeit unwillingly. My thigh muscles are sore, but I figure the only way to build them up is to keep at it. I also did .75 miles on the armbike.
It's going to be wicked hot here in CO this weekend. I'm not looking forward to it because I don't like getting all sweaty when I walk outside!
