When Did You Notice Your Weight Loss?
Howdy Everyone,
Before, I ask my question, I hope that everyone is enjoying this holiday weekend. I have lost a total of 50 pounds, and I am sure by now that I have lost more becacuse the last time, I was weighed was the 16th of this month. However, I wanted to know when did you start to actually notice the weightloss? How far post-op were you? It's funny because before, I had my WLS, I promised myself that I wouldn't be like this, and here I sit truthfully obsessing over when will I actually notice the weight loss. My clothes fit me a lil different...a little baggy, but not literally falling off of me yet. I am just 7 weeks out, so I know that I have to be patient, but it's hard to do sometimes. So if anyone can give me any advice, Iw ould be thankful. Thanks to anyone that answers this post.

Hey TT,
Boy you have done great! I know it is hard not to think about the weight all the time but thats what happens to us. You arent that far out but how good you are doing!! But I am four months out as of today and am just really really noticing things that other people take for granit. Like I actually am finding out that I have these things called bones!! Who knew? And really, I do think because I started at such a large size. I was 397 when started. And I weighed this morning and was offically 294. The face was the first place I noticed a change and then somewhat in my clothes but not a major difference except baggy until just recently. But hang in there because I can say for a fact that if you do what you are suppossed to, it will only get better......
Happy memorial weekend! Hugs Marge
TT you are doing so good. 50 pds is a lot. I have lost 50 at almost three months out. I really dont see it, but I am beginning to notice that my clothes are getting real lose as in most of them I dont wear much and the ones I do are really baggy too. I have fit in a size 20 jeans but they are too tight to wear. And other 20s I have found are not even beginning to be able to wear. I think it depends on wear they come from. You will start tp see a difference soon.
T-
I have lost 140 pounds and have yet to see a difference in myself, to tell you the truth. I have gone from a size 32 to a 16 (a regular 16, not a 16w), and when I look in the mirror, I see exactly the same person as before. Everyone says, "Oh, you look great," and all I see is the enormous belly and huge arms and think to myself "How can you say I look great? I weigh more than 240 pounds!!!!!!" I can see a difference in pictures, but, day to day, I feel the same, and feel like I look the same.
But, I did notice a difference when I was able to ride every ride at 6 Flags!!
So, my response is.......still waiting
Good luck with your body image and I think you are beautiful!
I think when I lost 150 lbs I really noticed the difference. After losing a hundred I felt better but still too big. One day all of my 6x and 7x's did not fit I went and got out my old 3 and 4x's and started wearing those but whe I got in 1x's I felt much better. It really does not take that long so do not worry be happy.
Hi T
First congratulations on your 50 lbs weight loss!!! I think people started to notice my weight loss about 3 months post op. But I could see the changes about 2-3 weeks post op. Clothes would start to fit loose and I could see it in my face and neck. Try to be patient, you'll start to see a difference soon. Enjoy each and every wow moment because you'll have plenty of them.

T,
Clothes really started fitting differently when I was about 75 lbs down. But, people were still asking me if I had got a hair cut or something, so it didn't really show that much. Since I've lost more than 100 lbs, everyone can tell. Now, I've lost 148.5 and people are again saying they can tell I've lost more weight.
Try and be patient, it will happen!!!!
Big Hugs,

Hey T,
To be honest i don't personally notice it when i look in the mirror. My wife actually has to pull out old pictures and show me this is what you looked like ...and see this extra chin...see how big your stomach was compared to now..then at that point i could say ..oh yeah.
I've lost over 140 lbs since january of this year (about 120 of it since my surgery in feb.)..and to be honest if i look in the mirror ..i really can't see the difference. I mean my cloths fell off of me (literally...that was embarassing as heck..i'd tell you the story but then i'd have to kill ya..lol). I've gone from a 7-8x to a 3x (and if i liked wearing my cloths tight like most fat men...i'd be a 2x...but the whole tight cloths thing grosses me out...and i like to wear my cloths a bit baggy)..and i did it in 3 months so it was "radical". but i can't really see the difference.
I think it's about self body image. I remember when i was 20 i lost 100 lbs and was still a *****ubby but i was for the first time in my life around a normal weight. 230#s at 6'1''. But i thought of myself as FAT..and in my mind when i looked in the mirror i coudln't see any difference between me at that weight an me at 330. I was wearing an XL shirt and a 38 jeans...that was the lowest size pants i had ever worn as an adult.
It's all mental..lol.
Anyway don't get down ...50 lbs in 7 weeks is great
