OT: what to do for music?
I am trying to figure out what to do for wedding reception music? Any good suggestions: I would like to make some cds up, but I dont have much music as I lost most of mine in a fire a few years ago. I talked to dj today and I cannot afford that. Does anyone know a safe place to download music or where I can have some cds made. love marie
With all of the anti piracy laws, if you want to download it yourself, you'd have to go with iTunes or the now reputable Napster (there have to be others out there, maybe enter "download music" into Google or something). I myself have iTunes with an iPod. (you can DL without an iPod, too) Songs are 99c each. You can also get full albums, and they generally run $9.99 a piece, some older stuff is as low as $6.99, some brand new music can be as much as $15 or $16 if it's a double album or something. I have preordered a new album which doesn't release until next Tuesday, and it cost me $11.99 since it is brand new.
Then you can make playlists and mix and match music so that it comes out the way you want it to. iTunes can even help you burn CDs.
Aside from that, you might want to try a local thrift store or used bookstore. I know I got a CD from a used bookstore once and it was only about $8.
Good luck!

Just a thought... Maybe you could post on craigslist for your city and see if anyone can burn your cd's from their collection. Blank CD's are dirt cheap and would only take some time for someone to burn them for ya.
I've also sweet talked radio dj's for some hard to find tunes. It's no big deal for them at all.
I wish you all the best... If my burner worked I could send you a country wedding cd like no other .. LOL
