Protein Struggles
For a short time I struggled to get enough protein. I was tired of the "sweet milk" protein shakes and just couldnt stomache them any longer. I went several weeks without getting enough protein. Then along came AchievOnes! I thought I had solved all the protein problems! Then I realized it was costing me too much money to drink AchievOne all the time..
On another site a girl gave me an idea for protein... 1/2 scoop of chocolate and 1 scoop of unflavored protein... Mix it with a tpsn of instant coffee and ho****er.. WOW, its almost as good as the AchievOne!! Its close to a cappuccino and so much cheaper then AchievOne!! I add a splash of S/F carmel flavor, or a bit of whipped cream... Ive even added S/F raspberry for a change...
Now I find that I cant stand coffee without protein!! So Ive gone from 1 extreme of not getting protein in, to the other.. Im getting 120-130g of protein a day!! Thats more then I need and I know it.. I guess its better then lacking!
Protein has been my biggest problem from day 1!! The protein I could stand to drink all the time got boring, then became a chore... If I dont enjoy something then I tend not to eat/drink it.. Finding people who are creative and make up recipes that taste good have been my personal lifesaver!!
So if you have any good protein ideas, please share!! I know I need all the recipes I can find... And your recipe might help someone else who is struggling with protein..

Amber,
110-130 is how much protein I get each day. That is a fine amount. It has really helped me keep all my hair, and build my muscles. Not like a body builder, but, they feel lean, but strong.
I now get all my protein from food. I start off each morning with 1 cup of fat free cottage cheese with tomato cut up in it and chives. That has 26 grams of protein.
Here is a protein shake that I used to make all the time.
1/2 c frozen blueberries
1 T frozen oj concentrate
1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder (I prefer the vanilla)
1/2 c fat free plain yogurt
1/3 banana
splenda to taste
Just blend it up in the blender. Yummy! I would buy bananas, cut them into 3 sections, wrap them in plastic wrap and throw in the freezer, so I always had a chunk of frozen banana to throw in my shake. If you don't use frozen fruits, add a couple of ice cubes to the blender.
