Visit to the cardio today ...
Not going to type a long message here ... I'm just not feeling all that great and there's just not much to say. The cardiologist said the symptoms I described (combined with my family history of a brother's sudden death by heart attack at 53 years old) made him worried. He decided to go straight to an angiogram, rather than follow the usual protocol of an echo and stress test first ... said he felt those would be wasting time and end up pointing to getting the angiogram done anyway. I have to say that I wasn't expecting such a candid response from him ... he took me by surprise. I truly figured he'd say ... "it's just something gastric in nature, see your BS". But he didn't. He asked if I was having certain other symptoms ... and everything he asked about I realized *has* been happening lately.
So next Thursday morning (the 8th) at 6:00 a.m. I get to have my heart catheterized (the angio) to see what's what. I'm to go prepared to be admitted if something *does* turn out to need fixing ... otherwise, I'll be home by that evening. In meantime, I see my BS on the 5th, so at least I'll be able to check in with him before the heart thing.
I just can't see that God would deliver me to this renewed life and let anything bad be wrong, and that's the faith I'm going with ... that and "if He brings you to it, He'll bring you through it". I'd appreciate anyone's prayers.
(((hugs, everyone)))

I'm so sorry you have to go through this - I can imagine how discouraging that would be. But it is nice having a doctor that is honest with you, at least you can be prepared. You should be proud of yourself for taking the initiative and seeing a doctor - you're taking care of yourself and that is so important!
I had something similar happen to me a couple of years ago and it scared me to death. (it runs in my family too) But it ended up being a strange infection that mimics a heart attack. It was a relief but I will never forget how scared I was.
I will be sure to add you to my prayer list - {{{{{{hug}}}}}}}
Hi, Myra:
I'm thankful that your cardiologist is taking things seriously and going straight to the important tests. This way, you'll know what's going on and then get it fixed. Scary, I know, but try not to be afraid. There are so many things they can do in terms of heart rehab that it just amazes me. Not only that, but you're just "down the road" from Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, which was ranked in the top ten of all cardiology centers in the U.S.
Sending positive vibes your way,
Kix
