My 1st WOW Moment

Yea my first WOW moment!!! We have a carpet store locally here in town. I called then yesterday to see if I could get some of the old padding they use when they lay down carpet for under my pool. It helps cushion the bottom of the pool plus prevents rock from pokeing thro the bottom. Anyways they said yes, I can get all I wanted from their padding box that is beside their store. So last night after we watched Deal or no Deal we hooked up the trailor to go get the padding. While DH was unhooking the trailor he asked me to pull the car foward. Now mind you I have a 2002 Kia Sportage Convertible. We got it in late 2004 and I have never been able to get behind the wheel of the car PERIOD!!! Not even sideways. And I hesatated last night when he asked me. I figured I would have to put one butt check on the seat and use one foot. But it didnt happen like that. I raised the stering wheel and slide right in. I actually fit behind the stering wheel and still had a little room. I got to drive around the block almost put myself thro the windsheild. Forgot what that brake thingy was for. lol It felt so good to start getting my independence back. So for those out there that you are asking yourself. Is this worth the fight that I have to go thro with family, friends, Dr's, insurance, diets, ect. My answer to you is HELL YES!!!!! It is so much more worth it then what you may have to go thro right at this moment to get you one more step closer to your goal!!! God Bless Melissa

Hi Melissa, Congratulations on your Wow moment!!! You will have many more to come. Congratulations on your weight loss!!!! I have driven a big Chevy suburban for years because it has a lot of room. I had to have to seat all the way back. It's great getting to pull the seat forward. The crazy thing is my height has not changed but now I have to push the seat up to be able to drive. Make sense? It's crazy but in a great way. (((hugs))) Diana 379/173/? starting bmi 62

hey diana -- i think it works that way cause we don't have as much butt behind us anymore so we sit further back and can't reach the pedals! deb

Melissa, that's a terrific WOW moment! Just try not to put yourself through the windshield, ok? I have noticed my seatbelt is much roomier now and that makes me do the happy dance. Right before surgery, I had noticed that, if I gained anymore, the belt wouldnt fit. Lisa L. 380/330/170
