getting worried!! HELP!
I have secretly been worrying lately that something will go wrong and surgery won't really happen. Maybe everyone feels this way. My biggest fear is that when they get started they will stop or have to do it open because of my current size. I'm at about 360 right now...I have 4 weeks til surgery. Am I worried for nothing or is this a valid fear...anyone my size or larger have successful lap rny???
I'm pre op and have those jitters too. I think it is normal since we have to give up total control of our bodies and trust these nearly strangers with our lives. It is a difficult but vital to allow ourselves to be vulnerable and trust their extensive training. I keep trying to focus that this is probably less dangerous than trusting the other drivers everytime I drive on Los Angeles freeways!
Best of everything on your journey. E.
Queen V.... do NOT worry. I weighed 404 at time of surgery. Had a lap RNY in December. I know there are lots of others even larger than I who had a successful surgery. Just know your surgeon and trust him.... and I checked my surgeons record to see how many RNY's he had done. Good luck You will be FINE!!!
Hi Queen V,
I think your normal...I think everyone worries. I started out
at 379 and was able to have my rny open. I was told by my insurance
they would only pay for it that year. I work in retail and cannot take
vacation on Nov. and Dec. I waited till after Christmas. I was
scared to death I was going to catch a cold and they would not be able
to perform my surgery. Everything went well.
((((hugs)))
