Dazed and confused

Well I had my return vist yesterday they saw I lost the weight they wanted but they are concerned about my BP and the fact my doctor took me off insulin because of the horrible swelling. I told them the swelling was gone I am feeling so much better. Excersisning daily and following weigh****chers. First of all they took my BP on my forarm ouch that really hurts like crazy!!!! They said my BP was dangerously high and for me to return to my doctor to get something else for BP. Then they said they will talk to the internist about what to do to get my diabetes in order. So basically I have no return appointment until they talk to the internist. I also know weight loss and excersise will help blood sugar and BP. I told the nurse there are larger people than I having the surgery and not to mention diabetes and high PB are all co morbiditys of obesity. I got the feeling I am being swept under the carpet and totally feel confused about the past 6 months. I am not going to give up yet I am going to another weight loss clinic for a second opinion if I have to I will have everything transfered. I also had to demand they take a blood sugar test to see how my levels are without insulin. I was so scarred when I left I went right to my personal doctor to have them check my BP it has much better plus they took it with a thigh cuff the normal way and not on my forarm. My doctor did give me a BP med to make them happy at the WLS as she said. Sorry this is so long but I knew you all would understand. Ideas about what to do would be great. Annie

Annie, if they don't know how to take blood pressure readings correctly on a large person, then it would make me wonder what else they don't know! I'd go somewhere else. Kix

Don't some docs just make ya want to scream???!! They always take my bp twice because it's so high the first time. I get so nervous and worked every time I go to the doc that I work myself into a frenzy and then boom on goes the cuff, which squeezes the life out of me!! You have done FANTABULOUS!!!! Please don't let them get you down you deserve this surgery and worked your buns off for it!! I definitely agree about maybe heading to a new clinic... GREAT BIG HUGS, Jamie

Thank you all for the advice I really do think it is the right thing to do especially with the way I was treated yesterday. I have checked out the other place on OH and it has gotten very high marks for former patients. Annie
